Friday, March 13 was Grandparent's Day at St. John's. Our grandparents and grandfriends joined us for a fun morning of games and activities. We took our grandparents to Founder's Hall since we wouldn't all fit in our classroom! After we did a kahoot together we enjoyed a snack while we played some math games. Then everyone went to the sanctuary for a whole group games, a band concert and a performance by the middle school. It was a great morning with some of our favorite people!

Dr. Seuss' Birthday
March 2 is Dr. Seuss's birthday so we decided to celebrate all week long! We chose some of our favorite Dr. Seuss titles and looked deeper in to the message or theme of the book. We asked ourselves, "What is Dr. Seuss trying to teach us?" and "Why did he write this book?" We used evidence from the stories to back up our thoughts and ideas. Then we used the themes to create new titles for the books we read. What a great week!

Biography Book Reports
Recently, everyone in our class chose a biography to read and created a poster board sharing information about the person they read about. They shared when they were born, information about their early life, why they are famous, and other interesting facts they learned. Everyone shared their reports with the class and we learned so much from each other! Biographies have become our new favorite books to read.

A Special Visitor
A few days ago, Pastor Schultz came to our classroom to talk to us about his job as our pastor! We have been talking about the many roles a pastor has in religion class. We invited Pastor Schultz to come and talk to us about what he does and answer our questions. Thank you for sharing with us, Pastor Schultz! And thank you for being our pastor!
