A Special Visitor

A few days ago, Pastor Schultz came to our classroom to talk to us about his job as our pastor!  We have been talking about the many roles a pastor has in religion class.  We invited Pastor Schultz to come and talk to us about what he does and answer our questions.  Thank you for sharing with us, Pastor Schultz!  And thank you for being our pastor!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was so much fun we decided to celebrate all day long!  In math, we played fraction bingo but we used sweet tart hearts to cover up our boards (of course we had to eat them when the game was over).  During literacy we read the book My Heart is Like a Zoo where all the animal illustrations are made with hearts.  We decided to get creative and make our own animals out of hearts.  They turned out really great!  At the end of the day we had our Valentine party where we exchanged Valentine's, ate some yummy goodies, played bingo and made a craft.  It was a fun afternoon!  Thanks to all the parents who planned, sent stuff in, and helped out at the party.  We really feel the love!

Kids Heart Challenge

Every year our school participates in the American Heart Association's Kid's Heart Challenge.  We raise money to help the American Heart Association do research and help people with unhealthy hearts.  At the end of the last week we celebrate and exercise our hearts with a fun time of jumping rope in the gym.  We had a blast and exercised to help keep our hearts healthy!  As a school we raised over $6,000!
