Polar Express Day

Our class had a fun Polar Express themed day.  The best part was we got to wear our pajamas to school!  We had a snow ball fight during math class.  (The snowballs had to math problems on them)  We read the book the Polar Express and then compared and contrasted the book to the movie.  We enjoyed a treat of hot cocoa and popcorn while we watched the movie. We ended the day with our fiction writing celebration.  We played the left and right game to take turns sharing our stories and ended the celebration with a toast.  It was a fun, cozy day!

LEGO We Do

We had so much fun today building and coding with the Lego kits we have on loan from The Lutheran Elementary School Association.  We had a blast building a fan that really works and a robot names Milo.  Racing the Milo's was our favorite part!  Thank you Mr. Charlesworth for coming into our classroom to help out!

Thanksgiving

We are so very Thankful for all the blessings we have!  Our school, our friends and our families are just a few of the things we talked about being thankful for all the time.  On Monday, we had some pilgrim visitors come and tell us about the pilgrim's journey across the sea and the hardships they faced when they reached the new world.  We also heard about what the first Thanksgiving was like and the types of food that was served.  Also this week in math we worked on planning a Thanksgiving meal with a budget of $100.  We used real life grocery store ads we found online to plan and budget our meals.  We also made turkey hats and on each feather we wrote something we are thankful for.  We are one thankful flock!
